ok I know this is a Jim site and im as dedicated to the man as everyone here, but does anyone think we are possibly obsessed? I mean I see the man as an angel in many ways but if jim could still opinionate in this day and age...considering the hippy movement did not work(he hated it anyway) would he think we are full of crap? remember he never underestimated his audience (we can think for ourselves) would he expect us to be inspired by the possibilities of which he spoke, rather than see them as a means to an end. Jim predicted the new dj driven music we have today...we should think about what he would predict now and do it ourselves. Anyway i suppose the question is... are we outdated hippies or can we change the world in a different way?
The artwork is good but it's not about Jim, it's only about his body. Once I told Michelle that her drawings are fantastic but that personally I would like her to draw something inspired by the poetry. For someone like me it's very difficult to enjoy anything related to Jim when it's focused on the body which is the one thing that doesn't live eternally. I would like people to like Jim for his heart and soul. And that is far from happening. So the answer to your question is: your obsession is wrong because it's not about the soul and heart of Jim, it's focused on his body.
To be very honest I don't think people like Jim. They like some idol they created for themselves with the help of the music industry and myth makers. To like Jim is something completely different. Jim doesn't believe that you really like him. He knows that you like his looks, not his soul. Because if you'd like him you would be his/her fan anyway and anyhow,
